A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue (ARAR) is seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Office Assistant to support daily administrative operations while also assisting with basic animal care. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable in a shelter environment, enjoys interacting with people, and can support both office and animal care teams.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries
- Greet visitors, adopters, volunteers, and donors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Assist with front desk coverage and general office support
Administrative Support
- Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets
- Assist with data entry, record organization, and document management
- Support staff with administrative tasks as needed
Office & Supply Management
- Organize and put away office and shelter supplies
- Help maintain a clean and organized office environment
Animal Care & Medical Support
- Safely handle dogs and cats in a shelter setting
- Assist with basic animal care as needed
- Administer basic vaccinations and deworming under established rescue protocols
- Accurately document treatments and follow shelter medical procedures
Social Media & Content Support
- Assist with social media platforms including Facebook and TikTok
- Create short-form content (videos, photos, posts) that align with rescue guidelines
- Support positive engagement and outreach efforts
Qualifications
- Prior office or administrative experience preferred
- Comfortable working around and handling animals
- Experience with basic vaccinations, deworming, and shelter medical protocols required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Experience using spreadsheets and database systems
- Familiarity with Facebook, TikTok, and social media content creation
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
