Construction manager

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Steel Construction Manager / Crew Leader to oversee the erection of pre-fabricated solar carports across the U.S. All materials arrive on-site pre-fabricated, with a bolt-together system that requires very little field welding or cutting.

This is a traveling position —you must be willing and able to commit to 5–6 weeks on the road, followed by 1 week off. As Crew Leader, you will manage a team of 4–5 construction crew members while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a construction crew of 4–5 employees on solar carport projects
• Coordinate day-to-day jobsite operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity
• Oversee unloading, staging, and installation of pre-fabricated steel structures
• Operate and oversee use of equipment (Scissor Lifts, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, etc.)
• Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and site owners as needed
• Enforce safety policies and ensure all work meets engineering specifications

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required ; CDL preferred (CDL school may be provided if a fit is determined)
• 3+ years of construction experience required (steel erection or solar preferred)
• Prior management or crew leader experience strongly preferred
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (Scissor Lift, Skid Steer, Telehandler, etc.)
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended rotations (5–6 weeks on / 1 week off)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
