Instructional Aide Substitute Opportunities Dearborn, MI (Per Diem, School-Based)

Flexible per diem roles are available for compassionate professionals interested in supporting students in structured school environments. These positions involve working 1:1 or with small groups to provide academic, behavioral, and social assistance as directed by teachers and staff. Ideal candidates are patient, reliable, and eager to make a meaningful impact on students educational experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom settings
• Assist students one-on-one or in small groups as assigned by school personnel
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, classroom participation, and mobility needs
• Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
• Support supervision and personal care requirements while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff to promote student success

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Ability to pass a Tuberculosis (TB) test and other required clearances prior to starting
• Capacity to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Clearances must be current or obtained before beginning employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Training or certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT, or RBT is an advantage but not mandatory
• Strong teamwork skills coupled with patience and reliability
