Business Intelligence Manager
The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of data analytics solutions across the organization. This onsite role will leverage industry-leading techniques and best practices emphasizing continuous improvement and innovation needed to sustain critical data governance and analytics platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Data Governance & Analytics :
- Leads the development and execution of the organization's Business Intelligence Strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates strong communication and project management skills and applies these skills to support implementation of the corporate BI strategy.
- Establishes and maintains data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance within Clinical & Business Operations.
- In collaboration with operational leadership teams, develop data analytics processes and tools to support clinical, quality, revenue cycle management, and business operations.
- Facilitates data analysis activities, including data mining, trend analysis, and predictive modeling, to extract actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Creates and manages comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that provide stakeholders with timely, relevant, and accurate information.
- Works with clinical and business colleagues, analyzes, designs, builds, tests, delivers and maintains reports, dashboards, and ad hoc data extracts.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis including interpretation and synthesis of outcomes and conclusions.
- Responsible for report development of complex analytics requests within set timeframes. Report development may comprise roughly 75% of job responsibilities, depending on organizational reporting needs.
- Collaborates with vendors, business leaders, committees, and workgroups to promote the best use of technology and data analytic practices.
- Uses knowledge of data processes to anticipate business questions and needs and proactively identify opportunities.
- Interfaces directly with senior and executive leaders to negotiate requirements, understand department needs and provide consultation on options to best fulfill unique reporting needs.
- Incorporates knowledge of Artificial Intelligence into the data program to optimize efficiency.
- Serves as an internal expert on data management and use of Microsoft data intelligence and programming tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other tools.
- Remains current and knowledgeable on new and emerging technologies that may enhance business.
- Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
- Directly supervises, mentors, educates, and supports departmental report writers/data analysts.
- Manages and oversees the BI requests process.
- Applies efficient project management methods to achieve timely completion of requests and to coordinate efforts across all BI team members.
- Assigns data team project leads and ensures requests are completed in a timely manner.
- Accurately and promptly analyzes the impact of clinical, billing, and data systems on work processes.
- Accurately and promptly analyzes and prioritizes user needs and requests and provides proactive user support. Communicates issues with team members, leadership, and IT.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current trends and issues in healthcare data analytics, national and statewide standards and regulations, enterprise policies and procedures as related to clinical and data practice/business operations.
- Strong and diverse technical competencies in data analysis, modeling, BI tool application, programming, warehousing and architecture.
- Knowledgeable in multiple programming languages including Python, SQL.
- Strong analytical and technical skills for data analysis, mining and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and isolate complex problems while delivering on time results in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data warehouses, relational databases and data objects.
- Ability to integrate AI into data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience developing and managing a multitude of data projects requiring strong organization, project management skills, networking and collaboration, problem solving, innovation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of applicable Electronic Healthcare Record databases.
- Understanding of clinician needs and practice patterns, as well as healthcare operations and workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or Business Administration or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience. Master's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in the healthcare industry AND two (2) years data analytics experience in a healthcare setting utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Business Objects, SQL, CCL, Tableau, or related analytics apps/languages. Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence applications is highly preferred.
