Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
- Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods.
- Develops and evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
- Studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by participating in testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Assist with equipment and tool design.
- Lead the manufacturing evaluation of new product concepts (DFA), creation of manufacturing plans, and estimations of production costs.
- Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resource documentation such as DFA’s, PFPFMEAs, and WI’s.
- Lead prototype and start-of-production activities necessary to meet product quality and business plan objectives.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
- Support prototype operators, technicians, designers, and engineers to create and run processes for product launch.
- Follow and make recommendations for improvement as necessary to document Company Best Practices.
- Develop other junior engineers and employees to improve their abilities and skills.
- Support company vision, values, goals, and business plan.

- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Working knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley preferred), HMI’s, relays, contractors, servos, steppers, low voltage circuits, high voltage circuits, torque drivers, bar code systems, database storage, vision systems.
- Experience with quality management systems.
- Strong technical and communication skills.
- Working Experience with machine electrical cabinet layout and machine controls
- Team player.
- Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001.
- Experience with Fixturing Design – Robotic, CNC, Weld.
- Knowledge about assembly controls such as sensors, vision, mechanical poke yokes.
- Knowledge of Robotic/automated assembly processes vs. manual (when to use what, where, and why).
- Knowledge about Pneumatic assemblies, valve banks, air controls.
- Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks preferred (strong ability to concept something in CAD and ability to convey ideas into something functional is critical).
- Experience in multi-content assembly processes, non-siloed, full understanding of any product manufacturing stream from start to finish.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
- May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead.
- The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
- May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, colors on prints, and/or operate field instruments/equipment.
- The ability to pass a human performance evaluation/ physical assessment.
