Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist - SBA and Commercial Loans

Capitol National Bank, located in Lansing, Michigan , is currently looking to fill the position of Loan Documentation Specialist . This position has responsibility for the operations of loan documentation. This employee implements quality assurance standards to ensure that loan documentation is complete and conforms to established guidelines.

• Prepares and reviews loan documents to ensure accuracy of all documentation in accordance with duly approved loan requests prior to release to loan assistants.
• Identifies, recommends and participates in the implementation of procedures and workflow improvements for loan department processes.
• Assists in maintaining loan tickler system to ensure timely receipt of collateral documents, title policies, etc.
• Maintains and revises filing and record keeping system, maintains a variety of loan files and documents.
• Tracks and processes paid-off loans, lien releases, mortgage discharges, etc.
• Tracks, sends and receives, and processes proper documentation to update obligor addresses.
• May prepare specialized administrative reports, gathering data and information from a variety of sources and doing research as necessary.

Skills/Equipment

• Attention to detail is of utmost importance.
• Previous experience working with SBA Loans and Commercial Loans is preferred.
• Ability to organize and prioritize in situations where dramatic changes frequently occur.
• Ability to deal effectively and tactfully in representing the Bank, maintains a high level of confidentiality.
• Possess knowledge of Loan Compliance and Bank Loan Policy & Procedures as it relates to job responsibilities.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle detail oriented transactions.
• Highly qualified, proficient, and experienced lending and administrative skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and various mainframe systems such as Laser Pro and Silverlake.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Generally good. The environment for this position is non-confined office-type setting that is mostly clean and comfortable. Little discomfort caused by such factors as noise, heat or dust. The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 20 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching. Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e. robbery. Detailed instructions and procedures are provided to minimize risk.
