Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician where you will be responsible for handling various aspects of the pharmacy to ensure comprehensive coverage. You will be cross-trained across all departments to enhance your proficiency and versatility.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Qa: Perform data entry utilizing short codes and familiarize yourself with sound alike/look alike drugs, package sizes, and stock sizes. Type prescriptions accurately for each patient, identify mistakes, and collaborate with appropriate parties for clarifications. Ensure all prescription details are verified before scheduling, packaging, and dispatching medications.
• Image Indexing: Sort and attach received faxes to the correct patient profiles. Accurately type prescriptions into patient charts, paying attention to detail. Handle approvals from drug manufacturers for Free Drug patients.
• Pharmacist Call Back: Reach out to doctor’s offices to obtain prescription refills or clarify prescription information. Ensure accuracy and precision in data entry and communication with patients regarding their prescriptions. Handle verbal prescriptions and address adverse events with strong phone skills.

Essential Skills

• Michigan Pharmacy Technician License/Certification
• 2-3 years of pharmacy experience
• Proficient in computer skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience in retail pharmacy, compounding, and specialty pharmacy

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Script Med
• Background in IV/Infusion
• Experience with Free Drug programs
• High volume prescription processing

Work Environment

Work in a specialty pharmacy setting, primarily in the front office. You will have your own desk, computer, and headset, sharing the space with 3-6 colleagues. The position operates during the first shift, Monday to Friday, with training hours from 8:30 am to 5 pm for about a month, transitioning to regular working hours from 9:30 am to 6 pm on-site in Shelby Township, MI.

This is a Contract position based out of Macomb, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
