Job Summary:

Reliance One is seeking an experienced Lead Process Technician to join our team in Chesterfield, MI. This role requires hands-on experience in plastics injection molding and automated manufacturing, with a focus on optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and leading small production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, start up, and optimize injection molding machines and automated systems to meet production and quality specifications.
• Analyze molding parameters and make data-driven adjustments to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance part consistency.
• Lead a team of 2–3 operators or junior technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process improvements and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular process audits and maintain detailed documentation of molding conditions, deviations, and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and ensure proper performance.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules, assist with tooling changes, mold setups, and automation cell calibration.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in plastics injection molding or automated manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of molding principles, materials, and machine control systems (robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics).
• Proven track record in process improvement and production optimization.
• Leadership experience supervising or mentoring small teams.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
