Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant

If you have strong accounting experience in construction , preferably in commercial construction, expertise in QuickBooks Enterprise, and a solid understanding of WIP accounting, Davis Bacon compliance, AIA documents, and bonding requirements , we want to hear from you!

Compensation: $60k -$85k annually, based on experience

Key Responsibilities :

· Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP

· Oversee job cost accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects

· Ensure Davis-Bacon compliance, including certified payroll reporting

· Handle bonding and insurance compliance, including financial reporting for bonding companies

· Manage multi-state accounting and tax compliance, including sales tax and payroll tax

· Account receivables / account payables

· Assist with reviewed financial statements and collaborate with external CPAs

· Prepare and analyze financial reports, cash flow projections, and budget forecasts

· Implement and improve accounting processes to support future growth

· Work closely with leadership on financial decision making

· Insurance audits

· Monthly job costing reconciliations

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in construction. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

· Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise (required), construction-specific accounting software a plus

· Strong understanding of WIP accounting, Davis-Bacon compliance, and certified payroll

· Experience with bonding requirements and financial reporting

· Preferred knowledge of multi-state tax compliance and payroll processing

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in improving accounting processes

· Should possess the ability to work independently and desire to transition into a Controller role as the company continues to grow
