Crib Attendant
Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable Crib Attendant to support our client's automotive repair facility in Detroit, MI .

Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime required as needed)
Pay: Starting at $18/hr (negotiable based on experience)

Position Overview

The Crib Attendant plays a critical role in supporting mechanics and shop operations by managing the tool and parts crib. This position is responsible for organizing, tracking, and maintaining inventory, enforcing check-in/check-out procedures, and ensuring smooth workflow within the shop. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, independent, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, consumables, and take-off components (scrap, cores, reusable).

• Organize the crib so that all tools and parts are accessible and properly accounted for.

• Manage check-in/check-out processes for tools and parts.

• Assist with occasional parts pick-ups or deliveries.

• Collaborate with mechanics and leadership to prioritize tasks and support shop flow.

• Assess work priorities based on shop timing and urgency.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and process-driven crib environment.

• Suggest and document improvements to crib processes.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude (able to identify and understand parts; no repair work required).

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.

• Strong ability to prioritize and shift focus as needed.

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Preferred: Forklift/Hilo experience.

• Preferred: Ability to drive a 26ft box truck with air brakes.

• Flexible with overtime and occasional weekends.
