We are seeking an Assisted Living Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

· RN/ LPN Preferred

· 1-2 years previous professional experience or college education is preferred.

· 3+ years management in a senior care setting preferred.

Licenses and Certificates

· CPR Training

· RN/ LPN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:

Performance

· Foster a positive workplace environment via positive attitude and “can do” approach

· Work well with Owners, Manager, as well as Med Passer/Care and Cook Staff.

· Demonstrate appropriate strategies and techniques that are effective with the senior population.

· Understand the need for ongoing training and maintain current certifications.

· Knowledge of Assisted Living/Home for the Aged Licensing Requirements

· Adhere to all policies and all procedures including emergency program procedures for fire, tornadoes, accidents and serious injuries.

· Help to maintain a clean and safe environment for the residents by working together with staff to ensure laundry, cleaning and proper hygiene care is provided timely.

· Observe safety and security procedures, utilize equipment and materials properly and report potentially unsafe conditions.

Documentation

· Complete documentation as specified for licensing and inspections.

· Complete appropriate Incident Reports and forward to State Licensing Consultant as required, ensuring all documentation is complete and signed before submitting and file timely and appropriately.

Attendance and Punctuality

· Develop and follow a rotating every other week “On-Call” schedule with Manager

· Post work schedules, arrive on time for all shifts and be reliable. Report to Owners if unable to be in compliance with appropriate amount of staffing required per licensing to care of the residents.

· Work with Manager to find coverage and ensure resident safety and care.

· Follow "call-in" procedure properly.

· Attend all scheduled meetings and in-service trainings.

Decision Making and Responsibility

· Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions and takes responsibility for own actions.

· Able to differentiate when Owners and Management Team should be included in decision regarding the resident’s care or activity.

· Continually make responsible decisions to ensure the health and safety of the residents.

· Exhibit cost consciousness behavior and demonstrate resourcefulness to conserve resources.

Communication and Professionalism

· Accept responsibility for own actions, convey necessary information accurately, listen effectively and ask questions when clarification is needed.

· Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and maintain regular contact with Owners and Management Team.

· Limit personal conversations while at work and avoid gossiping with co-workers, residents and/or family members.

· Maintain current personnel contact information on file

· Represent the organization professionally by treating people with respect, working with integrity and upholding the values .

· Maintain positive internal and external customer service relationships, and work to continually improve them.

Medical Coordination **this is the duty of the Assistant Manager, back to Manager if Assistant is on vacation, or if becomes one job again**

· Adhere to MI state regulations regarding medication.

· Communicate regularly with directed physicians and pharmacy to monitor all prescribed medications, reorder medications as needed, and to make sure medication is available for standing medical orders (SMO).

· Confirm all prescriptions and medication labels match the medication record exactly.

· Count and record all incoming medication in the computer medication system.

· Check in and label all monthly medications by the 30th of the month (27th for February) to have ready for medication changeover. Order any missing medication(s) from the pharmacy. Check in and label any new medication(s) ordered by the physician.

· Ensure that all medications have been dispensed as ordered.

· Go through all bubble packs from the end of the month and dispense of any unused or expired medications monthly and as necessary.

· Review the Narcotic Count with Med Passer and keep them adequately supplied; and monitor for accuracy the daily medication records. Maintain medical appointment information, blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring records.

· Immediately notify the Manager of all discrepancies and errors.

· Print off the MAR for the previous month and file in the patient charts on the first of every month.

· Review all nursing notes and provide any follow up needed including scheduling of any appointments, tests, or lab work requested and follow up to obtain results.

· Maintain current monthly weight charts, immunizations and physical evaluation records on each resident.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Be on call and available by cell phone to provide guidance, 24-hour support for emergency situations and backup coverage for the building.

· Assist with LICENSEE/ ADMINISTRATOR of all medical related needs of the residents to ensure their health and safety.

· Oversee all medical related needs of the residents to ensure their health and safety.

· Work together with Assistant Manager to ensure all new employees are knowledgeable on the care plans of the residents, site rules, schedules and routines, and ensure New Hire Training Checklist has been completed thoroughly

· Conduct periodic reviews of the Medication Carts and work to resolve any count discrepancies according to MI state regulations regarding medication.

· Assure schedules reflect appropriate staffing to meet the needs of the individuals served and to ensure compliance with state licensing requirements.

· Provide information and input for disciplinary actions on assigned subordinates.

· Work with LICENSEE/ ADMINISTRATOR to complete and present performance evaluations for all assigned subordinates.

· Conduct fire safety, tornado drills and other emergency drills including evacuations.

· Maintain records of the staff in an orderly manner including all site books and forms.

· Assist Cooks to ensure healthy and nutritional food selections are always available, all food items needed for the menu have been purchased and certify all items are dated and stored appropriately.

· Help to maintain a clean and safe environment for the residents by monitoring and enforcing staff cleaning checklists.

· Maintain accurate counts of supplies on hand, ensure timely ordering of all supplies needed and keep supply storage rooms fully stocked on a routine basis.

· Keep accurate records in Time and Attendance and submit payroll in Paychex in a timely manner biweekly.

· Keep up to date records of resident payments monthly. Create invoices in QBO monthly, print and mail out to DPOA on file for each resident.

· Scan in all bills and invoices to appropriate person and put in QBO.

· Order appropriate supplies for other companies as requested by LICENSEE/ ADMINISTRATOR .
