Quality engineering technician

In this pivotal role, you will lead the quality department, ensuring that all product quality standards are met before parts are sent to the customer. This position is crucial in a facility that primarily engages in custom work, with a constant evaluation of new quality standards. You will work with a Faro Arm CMM machine, conduct root cause analyses for process improvements, and establish quality control standards. Additionally, you will review and analyze drawings to identify issues or propose solutions, assist with equipment programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and setup, and interface with clients to understand their quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality department to ensure product quality standards are met.

• Work with Faro Arm CMM machine for quality assessments.

• Create root cause analyses for process improvements.

• Develop and establish quality control standards.

• Review and analyze drawings to identify issues or propose solutions.

• Assist with equipment programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and setup.

• Interface with clients to understand and meet their quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Associate's Degree in Engineering

• Experience with GD&T

• CMM Experience

• Proficiency with Faro Arm

• Knowledge of Polyworks

• Quality Standards documentation and reporting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Faro Arm Laser Scanning

• Ultrasonic Testing expertise

• Background in Composite Manufacturing

• Proficiency in Dimensional Inspection

Work Environment

The work takes place in a small, family-run shop environment with around 18 employees, primarily supporting aerospace customers. The team works on components for high-performance rockets and lunar modules. The work schedule offers flexibility with options for four 10-hour shifts with an optional additional day or a traditional five-day, 8-hour shift week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
