Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development and maintenance of Rust-based embedded software for CAN-enabled devices. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and impactful projects, contributing to mission-critical solutions and future drone-related initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Rust-based embedded software for CAN-enabled devices.

• Implement pub/sub architectures and socket-based communication protocols.

• Design and implement network communication protocols.

• Debug hardware/software integration issues.

• Optimize code for resource-constrained environments.

• Collaborate with hardware engineers on system architecture.

• Potential involvement in future drone-related projects.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience.

• Expert-level proficiency in Rust.

• Proficient knowledge of C/C++.

• Experience with CAN bus protocols and message handling.

• Socket programming and network communications.

• Understanding of pub/sub messaging patterns.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Embedded systems development experience.

• FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog).

• Drone/UAV development experience (flight controllers, MAVLink, autopilot systems).

• Experience with real-time operating systems.

• Proficiency in additional languages such as Python and Go.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling Heights, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $67.31/hr.
