Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an Engineering student for the Summer 2026 intern session to work in the Maintenance Support group of the Nuclear Engineering Department at Millstone Power Station, Waterford CT.

Job duties may include:

Accepted candidate will work closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel in development of maintenance strategies and troubleshooting of mechanical components, including but not limited to pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. Accepted candidate will also support refuel outage planning activities for motor operated valves (MOV), air operated valves (AOV), and check valves. Examples of field work opportunities include internal inspection of valves and heat exchangers, valve and pump packing support, and exposure to vibration monitoring.

Project assignments will be made in consideration of completed coursework. Tasks will be mentored by experienced engineers

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Working knowledge of engineering theories and principles.

Ability to think analytically and solve engineering problems.

Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

Ability to process information and effectively manage multiple tasks.

Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).

Equally effective working independently or in team environment.

Must have a reliable source of transportation

Able to work as team player and work with various groups in the station to provide a user friendly product. Willing to get into the field and perform hands on evaluation of plant modifications

Education Requirements


  • Individuals must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university.
  • Individuals must have an anticipated graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
  • Students must have a 3.0 minimum GPA
