M.E.M. Construction & Contracting is seeking a Laborer to assist our Field Technicians with commercial construction and maintenance projects. This is an entry-level position with comprehensive on-the-job training provided. The Laborer will support inspections, repairs, and facility maintenance tasks under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with canopy structural inspections and repairs, including column assessments, decking systems, drainage, and connections.
• Support facility maintenance tasks, including:
• Interior walls, ceilings, and flooring
• Plumbing drains and supply systems
• Electrical lighting replacement and conversions
• Roofing repairs and installation assistance
• Flat work, masonry, bollards, islands, and yard fixtures
• Doors, locks, and hardware
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and job-site equipment under supervision.
• Stage and organize materials, load/unload tools, and prepare work areas.
• Perform site cleanup and hazard removal.
• Follow all company safety standards and site-specific requirements.
• Travel to job sites with crew as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience with basic hand tools a plus, but not required.
• Must be able to lift 55–80 lbs and perform physical labor, including climbing, stooping, bending, and working at heights.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from supervisors.
