M.E.M. Construction & Contracting is seeking a Laborer to assist our Field Technicians with commercial construction and maintenance projects. This is an entry-level position with comprehensive on-the-job training provided. The Laborer will support inspections, repairs, and facility maintenance tasks under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with canopy structural inspections and repairs, including column assessments, decking systems, drainage, and connections.
- Support facility maintenance tasks, including:
- Interior walls, ceilings, and flooring
- Plumbing drains and supply systems
- Electrical lighting replacement and conversions
- Roofing repairs and installation assistance
- Flat work, masonry, bollards, islands, and yard fixtures
- Doors, locks, and hardware
- Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and job-site equipment under supervision.
- Stage and organize materials, load/unload tools, and prepare work areas.
- Perform site cleanup and hazard removal.
- Follow all company safety standards and site-specific requirements.
- Travel to job sites with crew as scheduled.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Experience with basic hand tools a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to lift 55–80 lbs and perform physical labor, including climbing, stooping, bending, and working at heights.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from supervisors.
