7th/8th Grade Science Montessori Grade Teacher

Qualifications:
Michigan Math DX, DI Teaching Certification.
Ability to demonstrate and communicate a passion for working with children.
Ability to demonstrate and communicate a passion and value for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to demonstrate and communicate a strong knowledge base of the content for 3rd and 4th grade students.
Have the ability to demonstrate and communicate a strong knowledge of effective pedagogy that aligns with the Montessori program. (The Okemos Public Schools will train the selected candidate if they have not had been trained.)
Ability to communicate and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with our faculty and administrative colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate learning for 3rd/4th grade students.
Create learning plans for all students that ensure grade level learning is taking place.
Monitor progress for all students learning and developmental goals.
Facilitate Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports for the students in the classroom.
Participate in professional development.
Participate in Professional Learning Communities.
Engage with parents, families, and community members.
Maintain professionalism at all times.
Must be able to lift at 50 lbs.
Other duties as assigned by the building principal.

Reports to: Building Principal

Location: Chippewa Middle School

Pay Scale: Determined by the Master Agreement: $ 43,489- $ 61,951
