Legal Assistant

Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal support, particularly within litigation. This role involves managing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of legal proceedings and administrative functions. Responsibilities: - Prepare, file, and manage legal documents, including e-filing for court submissions. - Support attorneys in litigation cases by organizing case files and drafting correspondence. - Coordinate and manage calendars, including court dates, appointments, and deadlines. - Assist with scheduling meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings. - Conduct research and gather relevant case information to support legal strategies. - Ensure compliance with court requirements and deadlines for filings. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal cases and documentation. - Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role. - Experience in personal injury or insurance defense preferred - Proficiency in e-filing and familiarity with court filing procedures. - Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and legal terminology. - Demonstrated ability to manage calendars and schedules effectively. - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in legal research and document preparation software. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
