At START, we’re welcoming experienced professionals who live and breathe precision tooling. Step into our toolroom as an Injection Mold Tooling Technician and own the full lifecycle of production injection molds—from careful teardown and troubleshooting to meticulous rebuilds and preventive care.
Your day might begin by reviewing incoming molds, planning preventive maintenance, and prioritizing urgent repairs. You’ll disassemble cavities and cores, diagnose issues (including electrical and hot runner system faults), fabricate or replace hydraulic and water lines, and return molds to production-ready condition. You’ll switch seamlessly between a surface grinder, drill press, and engine lathe, and you’ll confidently move tools using an overhead crane and a forklift. Most importantly, you’ll take initiative and keep work moving with minimal supervision.
What you’ll bring- 2–3 years minimum experience as a Mold Maker working on production injection molds
- Proficiency in complete mold disassembly and reassembly, including repairs and preventative maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and correct electrical or hot runner system repairs
- Capability to manufacture new hydraulic and water lines
- Hands-on skill with a surface grinder, drill press, and engine lathe
- Experience operating an overhead crane and driving a forklift
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision
