Data Analyst
Data Analyst Position Summary
The Data Analyst is responsible for using data and analytics to improve Hudsonville Ice Cream’s operational and financial performance. This position will emphasize cross-functional involvement with departmental leaders across the company. The person in this position will interact with these leaders to advance crucial business planning elements and insights in the areas of sales, production planning, purchasing, finance, operations, and other areas as requested. This person will be in a key position to advance Hudsonville Ice Cream’s business reporting and business planning technologies such as Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, and Anaplan, as such experience with one or more of these tools is essential and required in this role (or other comparable tools). Knowledge of SQL and coding languages is a plus. An ideal candidate will have curiosity for all facets of the business in addition to curiosity for data and technology.
Data Analyst Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop PowerBI reports that bring visibility to key business metrics (KPI’s)
• Bring attention to key business insights that are evident in the data whether it be potential correlations or causations.
• Develop efficiently coded Fabric notebooks and PowerBI queries that reduce processing time and follow commonly accepted querying practices.
• Build and develop Anaplan models for business users in the areas of sales, production planning, purchasing, finance, and operations to plan in their respective areas and have high visibility to urgent matters in their respective areas (for example: potential out-of-stock items, swings in sales forecasts, or swings in financial forecasts)
• Develop controls within Anaplan to ensure planning accuracy and completion of necessary planning parameters.
• Build PowerBI reports and Anaplan pages with an understanding of best practices for building a usable user interface.
• Run analysis for predictive analytics such as future retail sales performance, future operational waste performance, and future operational attainment.
• Understanding prioritization of data projects and data requests to ensure most crucial projects are being completed.
• Build PowerBI and Anaplan pages such as end-users can pull the data they need and don’t need to request data pulls.
• Develop understanding of business’s operational systems (ERP, WMS, TMS, and more).
• Build pipelines and write notebooks for data from business operational systems into Microsoft Fabric for ingestion into PowerBI and Anaplan.

Data Analyst Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a business field (accounting, finance, supply chain, etc.), information systems, or computer science.
• Preferably 3-5 years of experience in a business function or technology function in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel knowledge is essential (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Charts, Macros, etc.).
• Power BI knowledge and experience or coursework is essential. PL-300 certification preferred.
• Microsoft Fabric knowledge and experience is preferred. Coding experience is a plus.
• Anaplan knowledge and experience is preferred
• Experience in technologies other than but comparable to PowerBI or Anaplan may suffice (Tableau, Qlik, Workday Planning, Oracle, etc).
• Ability to consolidate complex information into usable customer-oriented formats.
• Experience working closely with internal customers, peers, and effectively managing those relationships.
• Experience providing insightful analysis to business partners in response to business needs or opportunities.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, change, and a fast-paced business environment.
• Ability to understand business objectives, strategies, and directions and ability to develop and implement action plans accordingly.
