Become the Discovery Quarterback on Complex Litigation Matters

Seward Henderson PLLC is a boutique civil defense litigation firm representing municipalities, law enforcement agencies, EMS providers, insurers, and private organizations throughout Michigan.

Our attorneys handle sophisticated state and federal litigation involving civil rights claims, constitutional issues, municipal liability, premises liability, law enforcement defense, EMS defense, and other complex civil matters.

We are seeking a Discovery Paralegal who will play a central role in managing discovery across a significant litigation caseload. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, accountability, problem-solving, and helping litigation teams stay ahead of deadlines and case demands.

This is not a passive administrative role. The right candidate will become a key member of the litigation team and help drive cases forward.

What You'll Do

The Discovery Paralegal will assist the managing partner throughout the discovery process, including:

• Managing discovery deadlines and tracking outstanding items

• Drafting and organizing discovery responses

• Preparing and serving subpoenas

• Coordinating record collection and document production

• Reviewing, organizing, and summarizing records

• Managing deposition logistics and scheduling

• Coordinating with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel

• Assisting with motion practice related to discovery disputes

• Preparing exhibits and materials for depositions, hearings, and trial

• Maintaining organized case files and litigation calendars

The Discovery Paralegal serves as an important checkpoint within the litigation process and helps ensure that deadlines, outstanding tasks, and discovery obligations remain on track.

Requirements

• Prior litigation paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred

• Experience with discovery, subpoenas, records, depositions, or litigation support strongly preferred

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation case-management software
