Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI 48202
Assignment Type: 13-week contract with potential for extension
Work Hours: 8 hours shift, M-F (2p-10:30p, 11a-7p, 4:30p-1a)

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistants for a 13-week contract role at a leading healthcare facility in Detroit, MI. This role focuses primarily on post-analytic processing of laboratory specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing, emphasizing post-analytic processes.
• Accurately enter patient and test order data into laboratory information systems.
• Review and verify lab request forms and ensure specimen integrity throughout processing.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and laboratory staff.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of previous lab experience required.
• Experience in hospital or clinic settings preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain confidentiality.
• Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods and working with biological specimens.
