Administrative Support Coordinator
Hours: 7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday
Location: Grand Blanc, MI
Pay Range: $17-$20 per hour based on experience
Position Summary:
The Administrative Support Coordinator provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations. This role primarily manages front desk responsibilities during high-volume periods and maintains smooth scheduling coverage when additional support is needed. The position also serves as a backup for medical records functions during staff absences.
Primary Duties:
- Manages front desk duties, including greeting patients, collecting co-pays and deductibles, preparing charts, and answering incoming phone calls.
- Provide coverage for scheduling functions during high-demand periods or when a scheduler is unavailable.
Secondary Duties:
- Schedule patients for procedures in accordance with physician requirements.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Determine appropriate procedure locations based on patient and physician input.
- Retrieve referrals and coordinate pre-procedure scheduling and information.
- Respond to patient calls and inquiries.
Backup Duties:
- Collect, process, and maintain patient medical records.
- Retrieve and distribute records as needed for patient care.
- Ensure all charts are complete, signed, and filed appropriately.
- Safeguard confidentiality by releasing records only to authorized parties.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to shifting responsibilities.
- Experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling processes, and medical records management strongly preferred.
