Position Overview
Under the direction and guidance of the Board of Directors, the successful candidate is responsible for leadership, fundraising, grant writing, fiscal oversight, supervision, planning, organizing, staffing, cultivating relationships with local, regional and state organizations and positively interacting with volunteers.
Duties
· Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives to assist the Grass Lake Senior Center in meeting its mission.
· Attends and coordinates all materials and reports for monthly Board of Directors meetings.
· Communicates with the Board of Directors on all matters requiring Board decision.
· Supervises Grass Lake Senior Center staff and volunteers.
· Attends public meetings to be an advocate for the Grass Lake Senior Center, presents information, provide community outreach and requests funding.
· Maintains growth and membership of the Grass Lake Senior Center through ongoing community outreach/marketing and publicity efforts.
· Supports members and their families through positive interactions.
· Authorizes payments of expenditures in accordance with the center’s budget and financial policies.
· Negotiates, executes, and maintains all contracts and lease agreements with board approval.
· Develops, implements and attends fundraising activities.
· Actively seeks and pursues grant opportunities.
· Collects and analyzes data as required under grants/contracts or as needed to inform strategic priorities and program outcomes.
· Provides annual staff performance reviews.
· Manages staff workloads and priorities
· Maintains positive team dynamics.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, education or related field.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience managing community-based programs.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Experience with grant writing and budget management.
· Excellent written and verbal skills, including effective presentation skills.
· Possesses time management skills to set priorities, coordinate projects and meet deadlines.
· Ability to relate to seniors with understanding and compassion.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and other technology tools including social media.
Licenses and Certification
· Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license or ID card
· Must have reliable transportation
· Desirable certifications: CPR, AED and first aid.
