Facilities Manager | Portage, MI
Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of preventative and reactive maintenance for manufacturing equipment, plant infrastructure, and utilities.
- Develop and manage the annual facilities budget, controlling operational costs and capital expenditures.
- Ensure facility compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and building code regulations.
- Manage relationships and contracts with external vendors for services such as cleaning, security, waste management, and specialized repairs.
- Lead and manage facilities-related projects, including renovations, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Implement and maintain robust safety protocols and emergency preparedness plans for the manufacturing site.
- Optimize utility consumption and manage energy efficiency initiatives across the facility.
Recommended Qualifications
- Extensive experience managing facilities operations within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and industrial machinery maintenance.
- Proven track record in project management, budget administration, and vendor contract negotiation.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and environmental compliance pertinent to manufacturing.
- Experience implementing and managing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and preventative maintenance programs.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles applied to facility operations and maintenance.
- LEED AP or other sustainability/energy management certification.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for facility layout and space planning.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) implementation or optimization in a manufacturing setting.
