Team Leader
The Cooper Standard Livonia, MI Manufacturing Plant is looking to hire a Team Leader to oversee designated manufacturing areas, coach operators while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and LEAN practices. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating production flow, address inefficiencies, and ensure all team members receive proper training to support continuous improvement.
The starting pay rate is $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 4:30PM & Saturday 6:00AM - 2:00PM
Position Summary:
The Team Leader oversees a designated manufacturing area, coaching operators, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, LEAN practices, and supporting continuous improvement. Responsible for coordinating production flow, addressing inefficiencies, and ensuring proper training.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enforce safety policies including PPE, LO/TO, JHAs.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, TS/IATF 16949.
- Oversee cell production: productivity, quality, packaging, shipping.
- Complete set‑ups and support tooling clean/prep.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues.
- Coordinate schedule, labor assignments, and equipment availability.
- Ensure accurate scrap/downtime reporting and process documentation.
- Train operators to required competency levels and maintain training logs.
- Ensure work instructions and control documentation are current and followed.
- Support changeovers, TPM tasks, and sample builds.
- Promote Lean tools: 6S, TPM, FIFO, waste elimination.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering to resolve issues.
- Participate in CI projects, audits, DOEs, capability studies.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior manufacturing experience required; automotive strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years Leadership/Team Lead experience required.
- Technical training (e.g., equipment certifications) beneficial.
Work Environment/Work Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor exposure requiring PPE, including safety shoes and eye protection.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Operation of production equipment, adjustments, tooling handling.
