ED Nurse Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible for 24/7 management of nursing and ancillary staff in assigned areas. Provides leadership, ensures quality patient care, maintains staffing levels, and supports clinical and operational goals. Promotes a positive, collaborative work environment and supports compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care delivery systems.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and productivity levels.
- Provide clinical support, mentoring, and leadership development.
- Oversee hiring, orientation, staff education, and performance evaluations.
- Participate in budget planning and quality initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct daily rounding on patients and staff; lead monthly staff meetings.
- Engage in professional development and committee participation.
Qualifications:
RN license (Michigan).
- Graduate of accredited nursing program; BSN required or in progress.
- BLS and ACLS certification (if applicable to department).
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience; 2 years in specialty; 1 year supervisory experience in acute care.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced or stressful environments.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to perform RN duties as needed.
- Proficient with modern computer and office equipment.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.
