2nd Shift
The Environmental Technician III is a key position in supervising that the details of everyday production are executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, etc. This position is a hands-on working lead at Clean Earth Detroit TSDF.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Supervise segregation and packaging material for process along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
- Separate and pack hazardous material for transport.
- Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures.
- Collecting samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis.
- Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
- Have the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
- 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.
- Has the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possesses safe driving record.
- Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word).
- Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or related field.
