What your day could look like
You start the morning syncing with engineering, procurement, operations, and customer stakeholders to align on scope, deliverables, schedules, and resources. By mid-morning, you’re refining the project plan—updating timelines, tracking budgets and forecasts, and confirming action items from yesterday’s meeting. After lunch, you lead a customer call as the primary point of contact, clarifying requirements, sharing status, and documenting decisions. Later, you flag a schedule risk, facilitate mitigation planning, and process a change request in partnership with internal teams. You close the day by organizing documentation to company standards and preparing a smooth transition to service and operations for an upcoming closeout.
The role at a glanceAs a Project Lead, you coordinate and deliver complex projects from kickoff through completion. You ensure work is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the expected quality bar—always with the customer outcome in mind.
What you will do- Drive project execution across the full lifecycle—planning, delivery, and closeout.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define scope, deliverables, schedules, and resource needs.
- Act as the main contact for customers, managing communications and project documentation.
- Develop and maintain schedules; track progress and report status to stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and schedule impacts; lead mitigation efforts.
- Assist with budget management, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Organize project meetings; own action logs and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Support contract review and administer change management with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain complete, accurate project records in line with company standards.
- Lead closeout activities and coordinate a seamless handoff to service and operations.
- Champion safety and regulatory compliance throughout project execution.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and customer teams to remove roadblocks.
- Continuously identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Deliver consistent updates and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
- Resolve customer concerns through clear communication and effective coordination.
- Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Keep schedules, records, and reporting tools current across the lifecycle.
- Experience leading or coordinating projects in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, engineering, automation, construction, or similar settings.
- Outstanding organization, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Skill at juggling multiple priorities and thriving in team environments.
- Hands-on experience tracking schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern project management tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support customers and project needs.
- Sharp problem-solving and sound decision-making.
- Customer-first mindset with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Talent for building trust across functions.
- Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Background in automation, material handling, manufacturing, or distribution (a plus).
Expect up to 50% travel to customer sites, project locations, and company facilities for execution, meetings, installations, testing, and key milestones.
