Job description:
Schedule: In office Mon-Thurs with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. Starting schedule will be 8AM-5PM with potential to adjust as experience in role is gained.
Position Overview
Looking for someone with Transmission LINES knowledge or experience.
A Transmission Analyst is a professional responsible for facilitating Project Closeout processes in support of the Operating Companys transmission capital project program . This role requires regular interaction with various departments among multiple organizations including but not limited to:
- Engineering
- Supply Chain
- Property Accounting
- Project Management
- Construction
- Compliance
The analyst supports the review and reconciliation of charges against the completed scope of work in order to close out the project after it has been placed in service (construction completed).
Key Responsibilities
Project Closeout Management
Manage the capital project closeout process on behalf of the Transmission Engineering organization in adherence to the transmission capital Project Closeout management procedure including:
- Researching and resolving variances between actuals and estimates
- Closing capital projects
- Tracking capital project closeout status
- Providing business reports and maintaining proper documentation
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Develop and leverage customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders involved in the design and construction of transmission projects
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
- Perform data analysis that will facilitate process improvements and the development of best practices
Qualifications
Education
- Two-year degree from a technical school/university with related work experience is required
- Bachelors degree in engineering or engineering technology may be preferred
Experience
- Prior experience managing power utility transmission capital projects is preferred
- Prior experience in Transmission LINES design and/or construction is strongly preferred
Knowledge
- Familiarity with LINE design construction operation and/or maintenance
- Working knowledge of materials used in the construction of transmission LINE projects
- Understanding of LINE construction scope equipment materials and associated costs
Technical Skills
- Experience with TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System) Maximo Vault and/or PowerPlan is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to manage and analyze large sets of transaction data
Soft Skills
- Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues in various departments
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with varying priorities and competing deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively
Important Note
This is not a Project Management or Project Controls related role.
This request is for an analyst responsible for reconciliation of project charges after construction has been completed and the asset has been placed in service.
It requires:
- Analytical skills
- Working power utility knowledge (Transmission Lines)
- Ability to research and resolve variances between actuals and estimates based on the scope of work of each project
