Senior Mastercam CNC Programming Engineer

Picture your day starting with a fresh blueprint on your desk. You translate it into a clean, efficient Mastercam program, choose the right cutters, dial in speeds and feeds, and outline a logical tool sequence. On the floor, you partner with machinists to set up the job, verify the process, and run a quick cycle-time study to confirm the plan. When questions arise, you collaborate with Quality and operators to confirm inspection points and ensure every part meets spec.

• Develop CNC programs in Mastercam for a range of machines and part complexities.
• Determine optimal machining strategies, operation order, and tool paths.
• Conduct machine cycle time studies to validate and improve throughput.
• Partner with Quality and machine operators to deliver conforming, repeatable parts.
• Select cutting tools and define appropriate speeds and feeds for each operation.
• Program complex components directly from blueprints and technical drawings.
• Assist machinists with setups, part issues, and in-process inspection.
• Create comprehensive tool sheets and setup instructions for every CNC program.
• Recommend effective workholding and tooling solutions for stability and accuracy.
• Support the evaluation and development of manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment.
• Troubleshoot process and tooling problems; implement improvements to boost productivity.

• 10+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Fluent in Mastercam for programming.
• Skilled with precision measuring instruments (gauges, micrometers, calipers).
• Proficient at interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Comfortable reading and understanding G- and M-code.
• Solid CAD fundamentals and familiarity with GD&T.
