RTK - Junior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Junior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. Must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance.
The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.
United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas:
- Software Design
- Software Implementation
- Technical Documentation
- Team Collaboration
- Software Integration and Testing
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- In-depth knowledge and experience programming in C/C++ languages
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with export-controlled technology
DESIRED COMPETENCIES
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
- Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing
- Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming
- Background in real-time, multi-processing systems
- Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
- Developmental Tools & Practices
- Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira)
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (Preforce, Git)
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation

REQUIRED EDUCATION, ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
