Job Title: Fabrication Welder

Location: Hopkins, MI

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: Up to $28/hr.

Job Overview:

The Fabrication Welder will our client's production efforts by safely and efficiently assembling, welding, and finishing various weldments to print specifications. While primarily MIG welding various gauge sheet metals, plate, and structural steel components (angle, channel, tube, I-Beam, and up to 2” plate), this role requires the use of fabrication techniques and heat management to maintain square & flat assemblies. You will also use various metal processing methods such as torch/plasma cutting, grinders, band saws, and drill presses, in addition to operating shears, iron workers, fork trucks and overhead cranes. The role will integrate with the Fabrication team and work directly with internal teams to ensure build processes and completed weldments adhere to strict quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Meet & maintain all established safety & environmental protocols & procedures.
• Be a consistent and reliable resource for the Fabrication Team.
• Receive/check-in project materials per cut sheets to ensure all materials meet required tolerances.
• Assemble & weld various parts and weldments per engineered blueprints.
• Ensure quality standards are met in all aspects of the role.
• Strive to meet/beat processing times to maintain production goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace before, during, and after each project.
• Safely transport various parts & assemblies throughout the facility.
• Additional duties and projects, as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5 years minimum of true fabrication experience (holding square/flatness tolerances).
• Capable of reading and extracting details from blueprints.
• Proficient in using various measuring devices (tape measure, squares, levels, calipers, lasers)
• Excellent MIG welding capability on various materials (horizontal, vertical, & overhead).
• Proficient in metal processing techniques using manual and powered tools (clamping, grinding, drilling, tapping, torch/plasma cutting, preheating).
• Capable & comfortable operating various heavy equipment (saws, overhead cranes, shears, ironworkers, fork trucks).
• Proficient in basic computer skills for accessing job data.
