Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with patients/physicians/callers in a polite and helpful manner to book appointments, enter demographic data, insurance information and any other relevant information into the EMR system.
• Reschedule patient appointments when necessary and relays messages to staff.
• Follow up on patients who are missing necessary information.
• Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
• Maintain and update current information on physician’s schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
• Supplement office staff when requested and is receptive to additional assignments/projects as delegated by supervisor.
• Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
• Assist staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care.
• Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members.
• Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the EMR system.
• Organize and prioritizes work to make sure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• At least two years of customer service experience required.
• One year of experience in a medical setting required.
