CMM Operator

The CMM Operator is responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role focuses on running established inspection programs, collecting and interpreting measurement data, and ensuring accurate documentation of results to support production and quality objectives.
Responsibilities
• Operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies
• Run existing CMM programs and follow established inspection procedures
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection requirements
• Record, analyze, and report measurement results accurately
• Identify and communicate nonconformances or measurement issues
• Perform basic CMM setup, fixturing, and part alignment
• Maintain inspection records and documentation
• Ensure proper handling of precision measurement equipment
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating CMMs in a manufacturing or quality environment
• Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software
• Experience in ISO or regulated environments
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting
• Manufacturing or machining background
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required
