Hillard Electric is an electrical contractor serving commercial and industrial customers in the Grand Rapids area since 2005. In 2023, Hillard partnered with Crete United to build a leading commercial/industrial electrical, Communications and Automation contracting company in Michigan. Crete United is one of the largest and fastest growing providers of commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services in the United States. Partnering with Crete United, Hillard is positioning for significant growth and is seeking an experienced Licensed Michigan Journeyman Electrician to join or growing Service team!

Job Type: Full time permanent position. M-F 7:00 AM -5:00PM

Location: Cedar Springs and surrounding counties.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 Per hour DOE + Excellent benefits package! (No out of pocket for employee + Family Medical / Dental / Vision)

Job Duties:

• Install, maintain, and trouble shoot electrical systems in compliance with the National Electric Code.
• Provided teaching, coaching, and mentoring to apprentices learning the trade.
• Travels to regionally based customers locations to perform complex industrial and commercial work in construction, and service scenarios.
• Knowledge of primary installations and terminations.
• Trouble shoot relay logic & PLC controlled equipment.
• Maintain compliance with all OSHA, Hillard electric, and customer safety requirements and company policies.
• Performs wire and cable pulls.
• Install feeders and makes standard motor connections.
• Participate in safety talk, audits, and related safety activities.
• Immediately identify, correct, and/or report unsafe acts, conditions or incidents.
• Work with Utility Providers.
• Participate in CPR, First aid, and OHSA 10- hour training.

Job Qualifications:

• Possesses an active Electrical Journeyman’s license. (5 Years Min.)
• Strong knowledge of the most recent National Electric Code.
• Electrical trouble shooting skills – Motors, control systems, lighting, High and low voltage.
• Strong problem-solving thought process.
• Skilled at reading, understanding, and following blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Mechanical/technical aptitude and a passion for teaching others in this area.
• Ability to informally lead others, including directing work and coaching for improvement.
• Demonstrate a focus on safety, quality, customer service and goal attainment.
• Operates with honesty and integrity.
• Self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently even under pressure.
• Solid planning, organizing, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with peers and leaders.
• Ability to travel regionally to project sites, work overtime, and in varied weather conditions required.
