High School Girls Basketball Assistant Coach

Position: High School Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach

Location: Countryside Academy, Benton Harbor, Michigan

Beginning Date : Fall 2026

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Under the direction of the head varsity coach and administration, collaboratively plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the Countryside Girls Basketball program
• Scouting/opponent prep
• Player Development (includes summer/off-season)
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes student-athlete growth both on and off the court.
• Work collaboratively with coaching staff, instructional staff, school administration, and all other stakeholders.
• Mentor and support athletes academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Ensure compliance with all MHSAA, conference, and school regulations.
• Engage with the Countryside community to promote program success and student involvement.
• Travel with the team on school-provided transportation to all games/events
• Supervision of student-athletes at all venues/events

Qualifications:

• Prior coaching experience at the middle school, high school, collegiate, and/or club level(s) preferred.
• High School diploma and/or college degree preferred
• Teaching certification/endorsement(s) preferred
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and training techniques.
• Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
• Commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and fostering a culture of excellence.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Work and personal schedule that is conducive to consistent attendance of all team activities
• If not a Countryside employee, coaches are required to be hired via Edustaff
