Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and equipment costs required for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to understand project scope and requirements.
• Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Develop and present comprehensive cost estimates and proposals to management and clients.
• Identify and recommend cost-reduction opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their associated costs.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to develop accurate and competitive quotes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or specialized estimating software.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for historical data trending.
• Background in cost accounting or financial analysis.
• CAD software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for reviewing designs.
