Your contribution will be pivotal in helping define best practice for how customers can move their applications to Oracle Cloud. Engaging with Oracle teams around the world to understand their current best-practices, designing and defining global standards for Oracle Cloud Solution
Architecture, and building customer-centric guides to Oracle Cloud Architecture, are just some of the exciting challenges that await you.

There may be some visits to an Oracle office or customer premises, but we believe that these will be relatively rare for the foreseeable future. What you'll do
Contribute to or lead virtual teams that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule.
You will also be involved in supporting our field organization to help customers successfully deploy Oracle products and services to reach their business goals. The ability to communicate effectively through multiple media including written word, video and visualization is essential.
You can look forward to being be an active participant in the Architecture Community within Oracle, both harvesting and contributing to reference architectures. The Oracle architecture community is friendly and supportive and you will be able to call upon the broader community for help, and to contribute to the community.

Responsibilities
Architectural skills and experience are clearly important aspects to this role. These include:

the ability to quickly understand complex systems and applications and map those to cloud architectures and solutions
-
a good general understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on premise/cloud designs
-
strong architectural understanding of all technical aspects of a cloud solution including networking, security, resilience and connectivity
-
excellent communication and presentation skills with high degree of comfort speaking across all levels of management (e.g. IT management, Architects, administrators and executives)
-
strong collaboration skills and the ability to build virtual teams to deliver broad-based architecture deliverables
-
Some experience in engaging and influencing senior leaders would he highly desirable
Specifically for this position, a good understanding both from a technical and business point of view of Snowflake and Databricks product offering is a must.
In addition, a number of technical skills will also be needed; the more of these you have, the better you will fit the role:

A wide breadth of knowledge of IT systems and applications and the IT industry in general
-
Previous experience of defining and enabling best-practice - especially n a cloud environment
-
Excellent problem-soling skills combined with the ability for abstracting complex problems
-
Good knowledge of Oracle database and familiarity and experience of Oracle database concepts, technology, tools and capabilities
-
Architecting high availability solutions using Oracle Database, Data Guard, RAC and related technologies

How to upgrade and migrate complex multi-tier systems while minimizing system outages
-
Building disaster recovery and failover capabilities for complex multi-tier systems, including multi-cloud deployments

Hands-on experience of cloud deployments. While any cloud experience will be considered, previous experience of Oracle OCI would be preferred

Basic developer skills and fluency in at least one back-end programming language - e.g. Java, Python, etc. - as well as having a working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy.

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

12 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,400 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
