Business has historically developed in Michigan but has grown into six other states throughout the US. The Company started in 1981 and has experienced increased business potential, starting as a full-service property management company to running the development, construction, property rehabilitation and real estate portfolio within the organization.

Accounting Director Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Accounting Director provides leadership, support, and strategic direction to the Corporate Accounting staff. This position is responsible for Asset Management of the PK Companies portfolio, appropriate process creation and implementation, employee development and financial oversight of the corporate entities. This role partners closely with Risk Management, PK Development and PK Construction staff to drive results and uphold PK Companies values of service, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This role provides leadership and oversight of the corporate accounting function, managing a team of four responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple entities. The position partners closely with development, construction, and housing teams to support budgets, construction draws, and financial performance. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting insurance renewals and tax appeals, and maintaining key property and entity financial records. The role also serves as a key liaison to executive leadership and participates in strategic, cross-functional initiatives.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Accounting Director Position:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, real estate, or a related field.

· 5+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing accounting or financial teams.

· Strong financial and analytical expertise with the ability to interpret financial statements, regulations, and policies.

· Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

· Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting or property management systems preferred.

Compensation and Structure for Accounting Director Position:

The Accounting Director is full-time, permanent position with a competitive base salary based on skills and experience. PK Companies also offers a comprehensive benefits package. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
