Position Overview

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is seeking faith-filled, dedicated, and compassionate educators to join our Middle School team. We are looking for a talented teacher certified to lead instruction in a combination of at least two of the following subjects: English, Science, and/or Social Studies. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented educator with a growth mindset and a strong commitment to living out the mission of our school. We are specifically seeking candidates who hold dual or multiple subject matter certifications across these disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Faith Integration: Create a Christ-centered classroom environment; integrate Catholic teachings and traditions into daily lessons and activities.
• Instructional Excellence: Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes academic excellence and a genuine love of learning.
• Character Mentorship: Model and promote personal discipline, respect, kindness, and responsibility in and out of the classroom.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
• Partnership: Communicate effectively and positively with parents, working as partners in each child’s education and faith formation.
• Spiritual Participation: Actively participate in the school’s spiritual life, including daily prayer, liturgies, and service opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Certification: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• Subject Endorsements: Must be certified (6-8 or 6-12) in at least one of the following: English, Science, or Social Studies.
• Dual Certification: Strong preference will be given to candidates with dual or multiple certifications (e.g., English/Social Studies, Science/English, etc.).
• Faith: Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education; Catechist certification (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.
• Experience: Experience in a middle school classroom setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; a reflective nature and a desire for continual professional growth.
