Data Privacy Legal Assistant

These responsibilities support timely workflow between other departments within the companies. Responsible for all follow-up to ensure customer and client satisfaction. The Data Privacy Legal Assistant position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity. How You'll Make an Impact: - Assist the Data Privacy Director with managing and responding to data subject access requests, data protection impact assessments, and coordinating with outside counsel.
- Manage status of data subject access requests, annual reviews and calendar deadlines, data privacy projects, and other routine data privacy compliance tasks and assist the Data Privacy Director in responding to as requested.
- Maintain data privacy compliance records, including records of data processing activities, data subject access requests, and consumer consent, database of privacy notices and policies, calendar and track required updates to privacy documentation, review and prepared privacy documentation as assigned, and attend meetings as requested.
- Assist the Data Privacy Director with review and documentation of privacy compliance activities, conducting privacy risk assessments and investigations, communicating privacy objectives internally, developing training, presentation, and meeting materials, and managing privacy compliance projects.
- Perform general administrative duties, including organizing travel, copying, filing, preparing correspondence, answering the phone, maintaining databases, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate files and documents and claims process to assure effective coordination, timeliness, and follow-up.
- Participate with counsel in conferences and other activities deemed applicable based on the nature of an assignment/project.
- Assure any discovery and/or materials are complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on select projects; Research projects and cases to gain understanding prior to sending to outside counsel.
- Coordinate and oversee responses to subpoenas; determine appropriate personnel needed for a response.
Who You Are: - Minimum Associate Degree or legal certification in related area. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three years' experience working in a general office or legal environment. Strong candidates with a dedicated interested in data privacy and less than three years' professional experience will be considered.
- Evidence of a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate technical data to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in a position handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Computer literacy with comprehensive spreadsheet and word processing skills (Microsoft Office), data entry and email preferred.
Where You'll Work: - Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to noise, dust
