HR Generalist | Whitehall, MI
Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Whitehall that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for a diverse range of manufacturing roles, including production, technical, and administrative staff.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and grievances.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as manufacturing-specific regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Administer and support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans for plant personnel.
- Coordinate and deliver HR-related training programs, including new hire orientation, safety training, and leadership development.
- Maintain accurate HR records and manage HRIS data, generating reports as needed for workforce analysis and compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and a positive plant culture.
Recommended Qualifications
- Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance regulations.
- Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain talent for diverse roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR data management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing-specific challenges, such as shift work, safety protocols, and production demands.
Bonus Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Experience with HRIS optimization or implementation
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
- Prior experience in a unionized environment
- OSHA 10/30 certification or strong safety program involvement
