Alzheimer's Home Care Aide

Home Care Aide / Caregiver – Howell/Brighton, MI

CareOne Senior Care is seeking a caring and dependable Home Care Aide to support a friendly senior living with Alzheimer's disease in the Howell/Brighton, Michigan area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships while helping a client remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own home.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three days per week

• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Opportunity for additional hours as the client's care needs increase

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide personalized care and support, including:

• Preparing nutritious meals and snacks

• Providing companionship and engaging conversation

• Offering gentle redirection and reassurance for Alzheimer's-related behaviors

• Assisting with light housekeeping and laundry

• Providing standby assistance while the client ambulates using a walker

• Encouraging safe indoor and outdoor activities, including assisting the client outside while ensuring their safety

• Medication reminders as outlined in the care plan

• Monitoring for changes in the client's condition and communicating concerns to the office

• Completing daily care documentation

Pay & Benefits

• Starting pay: $14.00–$17.00 per hour

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

• A compassionate, patient, and dependable personality

• Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia (preferred but not required)

• The ability to work independently in a client's home

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and vehicle registration

• The ability to pass a criminal background check

• A current TB test or willingness to obtain one before starting
