Location: Shelby Township, MI, US

Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Our client, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed components, is in need of a Buyer for their facility located in Shelby Township, MI. The position is direct with the company and provides a competitive base salary and benefits package.

Summary

Monitor, manage, and purchase items pertaining to regular production supplies. Maintain contact and manage suppliers within the scope of production items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Research and find potential suppliers for the items we purchase
• Send supplier RFQ’s out and compile pricing summaries for management review
• Support and maintain supplier relationships
• Support plants with supplier quality and inventory issues
• Issue Production supplier blanket purchase orders and tooling purchase orders
• Assist in resolving AP invoicing issues with suppliers
• Support cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Backup for our Crib Master perishables system
• Prepare reports on purchases as needed for analysis
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Experience / Education

• Agree to Employee Handbook
• Pass pre-employment screening (e.g., drug test, background check)
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Efficient typing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing.
• Ability to compile information and make decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics or related field preferred
• Previous high-volume manufacturing / automotive experience preferred
