A day in this role

You’ll start by reviewing the day’s work orders, machining sheets, and templates. Translating those into precise setups and machine operations, you’ll configure doors to exact specifications, switching between certified machines as needed to keep production flowing.

What you’ll handle

• Read and interpret written work orders, machining sheets, and templates; execute the required operations to configure each door correctly.
• Flag any discrepancies or defects immediately to the Shop Supervisor.
• Operate only the machines you are trained and certified on—demonstrating competence and sound judgment at all times.
• Run equipment safely and efficiently; complete periodic maintenance and report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Shop Supervisor without delay.
• Organize your work to maximize throughput without compromising safety or quality.
• Apply and follow all quality control guidelines relevant to each job.
• Communicate schedule changes—notify the Shop Supervisor if arriving late or leaving early.
• Keep your station clean and orderly to support safety and productivity.
• Close the loop on every order—notify the Shop Supervisor when daily work orders are complete; be ready to take on additional assignments or begin preparing the next day’s orders.

How you’ll succeed

• Work effectively under general supervision.
• Resolve moderately complex issues; escalate more complex problems to higher-level staff.
• Bring solid, working knowledge of your machines, materials, and processes.

• Lift 1–30# frequently (up to 50% in an 8-hour day)
• Lift 30–60# regularly (up to 30% in an 8-hour day)
• Lift 60+# occasionally (up to 25% in an 8-hour day)
• Push/Pull 100# with assistance seldom (up to 13% in an 8-hour day)
• Kneel occasionally (up to 25% in an 8-hour day)
• Squat occasionally (up to 25% in an 8-hour day)
• Stoop frequently (up to 25% in an 8-hour day)
• Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in an 8-hour day)
