Shipping & Receiving Lead | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $52,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Mattawan seeking Shipping & Receiving Leads who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the shipping and receiving departments, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Train, mentor, and supervise shipping and receiving team members, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspect for damage, and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent data entry and regular cycle counts.
• Manage and maintain warehouse organization, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments (production, procurement) and external carriers to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflow.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably within manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and shipping software.
• Strong understanding of shipping regulations, documentation, and carrier procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to train and mentor team members.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
• - Forklift certification
• - Basic understanding of inventory control principles
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts
