- Plan, lay out, and delegate daily tasks based on drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, one‑lines, riser diagrams, and submittals; verify field conditions and proactively resolve conflicts.
- Coordinate material, tools, and equipment needs with the office/warehouse; minimize downtime and waste on site.
- Ensure all installations meet NEC, Michigan electrical code, and local inspection requirements; prepare for and support inspections.
- Enforce and model company safety policies; lead job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and incident‑prevention measures.
- Troubleshoot system issues and support commissioning of lighting, power, and specialty systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to sequence work and resolve schedule or coordination issues.
- Track labor hours and productivity; provide input on change orders, punch lists, and project close‑out.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate apprentices and junior electricians, supporting their growth and adherence to company standards.
Requirements
- Active State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician License (required as a condition of employment and ongoing supervision responsibilities).
- 5+ years of commercial electrical experience, including ground‑up or major renovation work.
