Job Title: 2nd Shift Forging Press Operator (6 - Month Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Chesterfield, MI
Shift: 2PM–11PM (may extend to 3PM–1AM during busy periods)
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced forging press operators to join our 2nd shift team in Chesterfield. These are contract-to-hire opportunities with the potential for long-term placement and growth within a stable manufacturing environment. Candidates will be responsible for operating and maintaining forging presses and supporting related production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor forging presses and related equipment
Inspect forged parts for quality, dimensions, and surface finish
Perform or assist with machine setups, adjustments, and die changes
Handle materials safely and follow all plant safety procedures
Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
Support sawing operations or other departments as needed
Requirements:
Previous experience operating forging presses required
Familiarity with part inspection and quality checks
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to work in a hot manufacturing environment
Team-oriented with good attention to detail
Schedule:
2nd Shift: 2PM–11PM (may adjust to 3PM–1AM during peak production)
