Diabetes Care Phone Specialist - Onsite/hybrid position

Edwards Health Care Services (EHCS), a division of GEMCORE , is a well-established and growing national direct-to home medical supply provider. We are seeking a highly motivated Diabetes Care Phone Specialist to join our high energy team. The Diabetes Care Phone Specialist's primary role is to serve and create satisfied customers who will retain Edwards Health Care Services, Inc. for future healthcare product purchases, ensuring excellent customer service throughout entire from start to finish. This role will effectively communicate via telephone and email with customers and patients; an outgoing personality and eye for detail is vital.
This is a hybrid remote position. The office is located in Livonia, MI.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Schedule is 8:15am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Employer paid vacation.

Key Responsibilities
Treat both new and existing customers like a family member.
Serve as inbound and/or outbound phone specialist for the Diabetes Care department.
Set-up new customer accounts for medical products service, such as diabetes supplies. Support customers with concerns or questions to include training delays, warranties, and supply ordering issues.
Obtain insurance, referral, physician, and patient demographic information.
Effectively communicate with peers and other department personnel to make a positive impact.
The exercise of discretion and judgement in obtaining prior authorization/pre-certification/pre-determination and Certificates of Medical
Necessity per insurance requirements to determine shipment and billing.
Core Competencies
Excellent verbal and computer skills with the desire to communicate with customers and prospects a majority of each workday.
Effective at retaining and disseminating health insurance plan information.
Ability to learn the products and receive training through virtual methods.
At least 1+ year’s experience in a customer service organizations or healthcare environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment.
Word processing skill of 40 WPM.
Detail oriented.
Healthcare experience helpful but not necessary.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
