PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Various Shifts Available
Location: Royal Oak, MI 48073
Pay Rate: $55 to $65 per hour, paid weekly
Job Type: 13-week W2 contract assignment with opportunity for extension based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
Weekend Rotation/On Call: NONE
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Shifts: Full-time (40hrs/wk)

• Evenings (2nd): 1pm-9:30pm (8hrs) OR 3pm-11:30pm (8hrs)
• Nights (3rd): 5pm-1:30am (8hrs)

Job Summary

The PACU Registered Nurse provides high-quality, compassionate care to post-anesthesia and recovery patients using a patient- and family-centered approach. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader and in accordance with Beaumont’s standards, the RN delivers individualized care to promote comfort, safety, and optimal outcomes following surgical or procedural interventions.

Essential Functions

• Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge to deliver evidence-based care
• Apply Patient- and Family-Centered Care principles to personalize care for each patient
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support recovery and positive outcomes
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from anesthesia and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
• Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation in patient records
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Participate in continuous quality improvement, peer review, and professional development
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and mentorship within the clinical setting
• Follow all hospital policies, safety regulations, and professional nursing standards

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate degree or higher
• Experience: Minimum of two years of PACU or recovery room experience required
• Licensure and Certifications:
• • Required:
  • • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA within 180 days of hire
  • Preferred:
  • • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the AHA
    • Specialty certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, NRP, or C-EFM
